Medi-Cal enrollment event
A Medi-Cal enrollment event held by Golden Valley Health Centers and Building Healthy Communities is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. today at Joe Stefani Elementary School, 2768 Ranchero Lane in Merced. Enrollment counselors will assist people with applying for Medi-Cal. Residents can learn about plans and levels of coverage.

There will be a drive-through pasta fundraiser to benefit 15-year-old cancer patient Kyle Begin from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Italo-American Lodge, 1351 W. 18th St. in Merced. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children at the door.
The Valley Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2877 Atwater Blvd. in Atwater, and the Merced Flea and Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the fairgrounds, 900 G St. EBT is accepted at both. The Merced Certified Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at 19th and N streets in Merced. The Buhach Farmers Market is open every Monday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4814 Clover Ave. The Le Grand Certified Farmers Market is held Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. on Washington Street and Le Grand Road, next to Pizza Factory.
Yosemite seeks volunteers
Yosemite National Park is seeks volunteers to help preserve and restore Yosemite Valley. Experienced work leaders will guide each day’s group. No experience required and all ages welcome. The program is every Wednesday through Labor Day from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet park staff in front of the Valley Visitor Center at 9. Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved shirts, and brings snacks, water and sunscreen. Gloves, tools, safety gear and extra water will be provided. No preregistration required for individuals, but groups of 10 or more should call in advance. Children under 14 must be with an adult. Volunteers will be asked to fill out a service agreement.
