The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a presentation that aims to show business owners how to make employees more effective and invested in their work.
“Engaging Your Employee” will take place Sept. 10 at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Doors will open at 6:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 7 a.m.
Jonae Pistoresi, who has taught business and marketing courses at Merced College for 25 years, will be the presenter. Pistoresi is known for creating the Customer Service Academy, which has provided training to thousands of employees and employers throughout California. Her program has received numerous awards, including a national award as an economic development best practice, according to a news release.
Pistoresi holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business administration. She recently spent a year researching the topic of employee engagement and developed the new Emerging Leaders Institute at Merced College.
A free breakfast will be provided for all attendees through Wake Up Merced, the chamber’s quarterly breakfast event designed to give local businesses information and ideas to assist them in their business strategies.
