Blast 825, the Fresno-based chain specializing in quick-fired pizzas, said it raised $3,366 for the Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals during its recent restaurant opening in Rocklin.
The daylong event, at 5198 Commons Drive in the Rocklin Commons shopping complex, raised more than $1,600, which the company matched with its own donation.
The Placer SPCA shelters approximately 4,000 homeless animals annually, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and mice.
Founded in 2013, Blast 825 is expanding its franchising model throughout California and into Nevada, Arizona and Texas. It opened a new location at 1132 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville last fall and plans to open another Sacramento-area outlet in Elk Grove later this year.
