Sutter Health’s Sacramento Sierra Region has been named one of the nation’s “15 Top Health Systems” for 2014 by by Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Truven Health Analytics, which annually evaluates health facilities and organizations nationwide.
The Sutter system serving nine counties was among five recognized in Truven’s evaluation of medium-size health systems.
“Recognitions such as this are some of the most meaningful because they signify all the extraordinary work we put into practice that help us enhance the quality and safety of patient care,” said James Conforti, Sutter’s regional president.
The Truven study gathered data from more than 300 organizations and made its evaluations based on a composite score of eight measures of quality, patient perception of care and efficiency. Evaluation areas included survival rates, rate of complications, patient safety and length of hospital stays.
Sutter Health’s Sacramento Sierra Region includes Sutter Davis Hospital and Sacramento’s Sutter Medical Center, both recently named among Truven’s “100 Top Hospitals” for 2014.
