Seattle-based Best in Class Education Center, a national supplemental education chain that focuses on enhancing math and English skills of young students, will host grand-opening festivities Thursday at its new site in Elk Grove.

The center, at 7811 Laguna Blvd., Suite 165, is the company’s first in the Sacramento area and its eighth in California. Programs are aimed at elementary, middle and high school students.

Parents and children are welcome to tour the center and take free assessments tests Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m.

“California has provided us ample opportunity for growth, and our centers have seen great success in the communities they serve,” said Hao Lam, founder and CEO of Best in Class, said in a statement.

The company, which has 28 sites nationwide, said it plans to open three additional centers in the Sacramento area in the near future.
