The Sacramento Transportation Authority is looking for applicants with finance or transportation planning backgrounds to fill two vacancies on its taxpayer oversight committee.
Applications are due by Sept. 18for the Measure A Independent Taxpayer Oversight Committee. Applicants, who must reside in Sacramento County and not hold an elected office, can apply and obtain more information at the “volunteer positions open” link at www.sacta.org.
The ITOC was created in 2004 when Sacramento County voters approved Measure A, a 30-year extension of the half-cent transportation sales tax, which funds improvements to roads and transit corridors.
The committee includes three voting public members with municipal finance, transportation planning or project management experience. Committee meetings are held quarterly; voting members serve four-year terms.
