Walmart will host grand-opening festivities Wednesday for its new Walmart Neighborhood Market in south Sacramento.
The store at 4420 Florin Road in the Southgate Plaza shopping complex will open after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m.
Wal-Mart said the store is staffed by 95 full- and part-time positions. It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
In connection with the store opening, Walmart is presenting more than $9,000 in grants to local community groups, including the Florin Road Foundation,VFW Post 67, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department crime-prevention program, the National Academic Youth Corps and Kennedy High School in Sacramento.
