Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, has again been named one of the nation’s 50 best cardiovascular hospitals by Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Truven Health Analytics.
The local hospital made the Top 50 list for a third consecutive year.
Sutter Medical Center was the only California hospital to be recognized under the category of “Teaching Hospitals Without Cardiovascular Residency Programs.”
The Truven study examines the performance of hundreds of hospitals by analyzing outcomes for patients with heart failure and heart attacks and for those who received coronary bypass surgery and coronary procedures such as angioplasties.
Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, also has been named one of the nation’s Top 100 hospitals by Truven for the past two years. Truven annually analyzes and ranks various aspects of the health care industry, including care facilities, health plans and medical device companies.
