A soon-to-open Chick-fil-A restaurant in Sacramento is giving away nearly 3,000 chicken sandwiches today and Saturday.
Officials of Georgia-based Chick-fil-A said the new eatery at 4644 Madison Ave. – just east of the Madison Avenue exit ramp off Interstate 80 –said sandwiches will be handed out to those driving through the parking lot starting at 4:30 p.m. today and at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials stressed that the giveaways will continue while supplies last.
The restaurant is scheduled to open to the public at 6 a.m. next Thursday. Officials said the first 100 eligible adults in line that day will receive a free Chick-fil-A meal a week for a year.

Registration for that promotion opens at the restaurant at 6 a.m. Wednesday, with those signing up required to stay on-site until the restaurant opening. Next week’s giveaway is open to adults ages 18 and older living in specific ZIP codes in the region. Eligible ZIP codes can be seen at chick-fil-a.com/locations/first-100.
