MyECheck Inc., the El Dorado Hills-based developer and licenser of electronic check/payment services has changed its name to MEC Inc.
Officials said the name was changed to better reflect “the expanded focus of the company’s offering to the international market.”
MEC provides electronic banking, billing and payment software solutions to individuals, companies and government entities. MyECheck clients include corporations, retailers, governments, payment processors and financial institutions. Historically, revenue has comme from fees collected for data processing, check authorization, fraud-mitigation services and licensing fees.
MEC also said that it is pursuing software licensing opportunities with banks in Africa.
