The acquisitive Gallina accountancy in Roseville just announced the purchase of a Southern California firm, and managing partner Larry Taylor said he and his co-owners are not done shopping.
When Taylor travels to national accounting conventions, he looks for companies that would make the right fit. He also works through consulting firms in the accounting industry. In the case of Gallina’s latest acquisition, Ontario’s Mellon Johnson Reardon, industry consultant Allan Koltin introduced the two companies. Gallina had been looking for partners in Southern California for a while, Taylor said, a key area for the firm as it looks to expand its footprint across the western United States. Gallina now has 46 partners and nearly 275 staff members.
“As you get bigger, you’re able to provide more services and specialize in certain areas,” Taylor said, “so our clients get everything from us that they could get from anyone else. It takes some synergy, size and momentum to keep going.”
