It’s the last weekend before Tuesday’s filing deadline for state and federal taxes.

If you’re looking for low-cost ways to file or places to get free one-on-one help, the United Way California Capital Region is offering assistance through April 15 at keepyourtaxrefund.com. On the website, qualifying individuals or households earning less than $58,000 a year can file for free.

Taxpayers also can also seek one-on-one appointments at a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) or Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) site, many of which are open through April 15. The tax help, by trained volunteers at various community locations, is co-sponsored by United Way, as well as Asian Resources, Bank of America, City of Sacramento, SAFE Credit Union, Yolo Family Resource Center and others.

For volunteer VITA and TCE tax-help sites, go to: www.irs.gov.
