A long-standing tradition took place this morning, September 20, 2017, as California Highway Patrol cadets mark the completion of their 28-week training period at the CHP Academy with a 5-mile run from West Sacramento to the California Peace Officers' Memorial. The memorial honors more than 1,600 state peace officers who died in the line of duty.
