RT tests Cosumnes College trains
Sacramento Regional Transit will begin operating test trains to Cosumnes River College along its Blue Line extension now being built. The trains will operate between the Meadowview station and Cosumnes River College between approximately 5 p.m. and 4 a.m. until the Blue Line opens in September. Food trucks to serve homeless
Eleven Sacramento mobile food trucks will serve lunch at Loaves & Fishes in Sacramento in the third annual event created by SactoMoFo and its members. Food truck owners are donating their time and food to give guests “a welcome respite from the hardships of homelessness.”

Senate panel mulls ‘Redskins’ ban
The Senate Appropriations Committee will consider Assembly Bill 30, a proposal that would ban the use of “Redskins” as a public school mascot at the four campuses that continue to do so. The author, Assemblyman Luis Alejo, D-Watsonville, says the practice demeans Native Americans and goes against state requirements prohibiting discrimination. The hearing is in Room 4203 at the state Capitol at 10 a.m.
