Little change in the forecast is expected in Sacramento.

The weekend is expected to look much like the last five days as a strong high pressure system continues to exert its influence. Fair skies, temperatures in the low 80s and not a hint of a rainstorm is the forecast for not only today and the weekend, but deep into next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Cool nights, with Sacramento’s overnight low around 50 degrees, will prevail. The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 48. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 48. Light and variable wind.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Light and variable wind.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 49.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 48.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 79.
