Davis council looks at panhandling
The Davis City Council will discuss panhandling and potential measures the city may take. City staff members have laid out several options, such as a ban near outdoor dining areas, a ban on panhandling at specific locations, and stronger efforts to provide services to people in need. The City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at Community Chambers in Davis.
PG&E to discuss pipeline
Pacific Gas & Electric will hold an open house in Land Park to discuss installation of a stretch of natural gas pipeline. The project is planned for Muir Way from McClatchy Way to Riverside Boulevard. Work is expected to start in mid-July and continue through October. The open house will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Congregation B’nai Israel, 3600 Riverside Blvd.

Spare the Air day declared
As the region enters another heat wave, the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District has declared today a Spare The Air day. A 129 AQI is forecast, a level considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. The district recommends cutting back on driving and postponing errands.
