The National Weather Service is forecasting dry weather with cool nights and mild afternoon temperatures for the Sacramento region on Friday and over the weekend.
The weather service is also calling for a warming trend this weekend and into early next week that could raise temperatures from five to 15 degrees above normal for some Northern California locations.
Fog is not predicted to be a big concern, although some patchy, shallow fog may develop over the weekend near waterways and flooded rice fields. The fields around Sacramento International Airport, and the adjacent Interstate 5, are usually magnets for patchy ground fog, the weather service notes.
The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS has nary a whisper of rain:
Today: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Patchy frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming north northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
