It takes a lot to pull off the New Year’s Eve fireworks shows on Sacramento’s waterfront.
The shows take place at 9 p.m. and midnight and are free. Here, by the numbers, are details about the shows:
14 – The number of consecutive years that the fireworks shows have been held in Old Sacramento.
8,000 – The number of fireworks that will light up the night sky.
3 – The number of launch sites on the waterfront in West Sacramento. Also this year: a fireworks waterfall off the Tower Bridge.
15 – Minutes that 9 p.m. fireworks will last. Early show is choreographed to this year’s hits.
10 – Minutes that midnight show will last. Late show is choreographed to classic rock.
50 – Hours needed to plan the choreography for the fireworks concerts.
1,500 – Cups of hot cocoa expected to be sold to revelers at Steamers coffee shop in Old Sacramento
100 – Security personnel on duty, including personnel from Sacramento Police Department, West Sacramento Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and private security.
