Capitol Corridor trains will deliver 49er fans directly to the team's new home in Santa Clara this year, starting this weekend with a 25 percent ticket discount for people attending the team's inaugural game at Levi's Stadium, rail officials announced today.

“For fans coming from Oakland, Richmond, Berkeley, Martinez – and especially Sacramento – Capitol Corridor is the most convenient way to get to the game, “said Capitol Corridor board Chairman James Spering.

The football team moves this season to the new Santa Clara stadium from its previous home at Candlestick Point in San Francisco. The new stadium is a five-minute walk from the Capitol Corridor’s Santa Clara/Great America train stration.

The ride from downtown Sacramento to the stadium is two hours, 40-minutes long. Officials say riders from the Sacramento region have the option of three trains that will get them to the stadium prior to the 1 p.m. game start time. Several trains will be available for the post-game return ride.

Officials said trains have wi-fi available and a “Cafe Car” that serves food and drink, including beer, wine and other alcohol.
