Fall on hold: It won’t feel like fall this weekend as temperatures ramp up in the Sacramento region. The forecast for Sacramento today calls for sunny skies, with a high near 92. The low will drop to around 60 tonight. On Sunday, the temperature should reach a summer-like 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Probation revoked: Former Sacramento realty titan Michael Lyon had his probation revoked Friday in his first court appearance since his arrest on drug charges, and his attorney acknowledged later that Lyon faces the possibility of being sent to prison for up to four years.
Soaring tribute: Folsom leaders plan to celebrate the connections between Johnny Cash and the city today as they unveil the first section of the Johnny Cash Trail and Overpass. The $3.8 million overpass at Folsom Lake Crossing Road and East Natoma Street is a pedestrian and bike bridge designed to echo the prison’s east gate guard towers. Today’s ceremony next to the bridge will run from 9 a.m. to noon with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Cash’s Grammy-winning daughter, Rosanne Cash, is expected to attend the ceremony.

Buy books: The Friends of Sacramento Public Library continues its Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at 8250 Belvedere Ave., Suite E in Sacramento. Books and other items sell from 50 cents to $2.
Blessed animals: Blessing of the Animals is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 2391 St. Mark’s Way. The Rev. Alan Jones will offer the blessing.
Salmon fest: The fifth annual Salmon Celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at McBean Park in Lincoln. The free event is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the ecosystem and the significance of the Auburn Ravine. The family-friendly event features live music from Chris Gardner Band, food trucks, casting lessons, science booths, crafts, bounce houses and face painting. McBean Park is at 65 McBean Park Drive.
