County forum planned at hotel
The State of Sacramento County forum focuses on the present and assets that can guide the county in the future. Business and community stakeholders can learn about the programs and services provided by the county’s 11,000 employees. The Sacramento Metro Chamber-sponsored event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, 1230 J St., Sacramento.
Frightfully fine weather
The weather won’t be scary on Friday or Halloween. The National Weather Service is forecasting clear skies and a high temperature of 81 degrees both days. So, kids, get out there Saturday night and get that candy.
Preview of camping exhibit
A sneak preview of the the California Automobile Museum’s next rotating exhibit, “Camping in Style: Little Homes on Wheels,” is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. at 2200 Front St., Sacramento. Visitors can eat camp-themed food and live the lifestyle. The cost is $15 general and $10 for members, which includes one free drink and food. The exhibit officially opens Saturday.
Things to do
▪ The American River College Symphony Orchestra, composed of about 75 instrumentalists from many walks of life, will perform with pianist Jon Nakamatsu from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the college’s theater, 4700 College Oak Ave., Sacramento. Cost is $15 general and $10 for students.
▪ Boo at the Zoo is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Sacramento Zoo, Land Park Drive and Sutterville Road. Children are invited to trick-or-treat around the lake at 25 different candy stations. There will also be magic shows, costume dance party, ghoulish games and more.
