The California Department of Transportation reports that the State Route 160-Paintersville Bridge near the Delta town of Courtland has been temporarily closed for emergency repairs.
The drawbridge remains in the open position because of a mechanical malfunction, according to a Caltrans news release. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, there was no estimated time of reopening.
The bridge is on the Sacramento River in Sacramento County.
Southbound Highway 160 traffic is being detoured at the bridge to River Road, while northbound traffic is being detoured northbound on River Road toward Courtland.
Boaters are advised to contact the U.S. Coast Guard to schedule waterway crossings under the bridge. Crossings must be approved ahead of time.
