Kings’ hosting ‘Tech Night’
The Sacramento Kings will host “Tech Night” at Sleep Train Arena, allowing fans to check out how the team is using innovative technologies – augmented and virtual reality, driverless shuttles, robotics and more – and learn more about the first-of-its-kind technology that will enhance the fan experience at Golden 1 Center – the future home of the Kings, opening in October.
The showcase coincides with the final round of Capitalize, the NBA’s first crowdsourced local technology startup competition, hosted by the Kings and Velocity Venture Capital. The four finalists – Barobo, California Safe Soil, Quicklegal and ViVita Technologies – will pitch their companies to more than 17,000 fans in the arena during the game for a chance to win a cash prize, consultation services with the team and lunch with a Kings owner. Fans will be able to vote in real time on Twitter, and the team will announce the winner at the start of the fourth quarter.
