Variable amounts of clouds are predicted over the next few days, but for the most part Sacramento is forecast to continue the warm, dry trend with highs in the mid-60s until as early as Thursday, when there is a 20 percent chance of rain.
There is a 100 percent chance of rain on Friday, tapering down to a 50 percent chance on Saturday and back up to 60 percent to 70 percent chance on Sunday. The rainfall is now forecast to be 3 inches or above.
“It’s a little early to nail that down,” David Rowe of the National Weather Service said.
The total rainfall for the season in Sacramento stands at 9.29 inches, which is 83 percent of normal for Feb. 3.
This is predicted to be a warm storm, so the snow forecast looks bleak for Tahoe and Truckee – snow is expected to fall above 8,000 feet, so only the highest peaks will see new powder.
Tuesday’s high is predicted to be 66 degrees.
