The Sacramento Kings and city officials announced today that they will host an open house on Oct. 5 to discuss the proposed design of the planned new downtown arena.
The open house is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Tsakopoulos Library East Room located at 828 I St.
Informational material on the arena and comment cards will then be placed in the foyer of City Hall from Oct. 7 to Oct. 14. The cards are being made available by the Kings, city officials and AECOM, the firm that has signed on to design the arena.
An online survey “designed to collect community input on key arena design concepts” will be made available today at www.Kings.com and will remain online until Oct. 6, team officials said in a news release. A group of survey respondents will be chosen to participate in small-group workshops with city officials, the Kings and AECOM.
“Since the inception of this project, our primary goal has been to create an iconic space that reflected and celebrated the best of Sacramento and the region at large,” Kings President Chris Granger said in a statement. “We’re excited to continue this dialogue with the community and look forward to hearing their input and ideas through this series of open houses and workshops.”
