City officials are continuing to seek public comment on the draft environmental impact report for the Kings arena proposed for Downtown Plaza.

The deadline for responding to the draft EIR is next Friday, Jan. 31. To provide comments, the public is asked to contact Scott Johnson at srjohnson@cityofsacramento.org.

In addition, the city’s Planning and Design Commission will take comments on the draft document at its meeting Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

A copy of the draft EIR, released last month, is available at http://portal.cityofsacramento.org/Arena.

An EIR must be completed before the $448 million arena project can proceed.
