Two men died Sunday night in a head-on collision in Arden Arcade that may have resulted from a flat tire, according to the CHP.
A 50-year-old man was driving a black Chevrolet pickup south on Watt Avenue north of Marconi Avenue at 9:55 p.m., the CHP said. A witness said the pickup truck, traveling in the fast lane, suffered a rear flat tire and that the driver couldn’t control his vehicle.
His truck crossed over the raised median and collided head-on with a white Ford Explorer traveling north, the CHP said. Both drivers died from the impact, and two passengers in the Explorer suffered moderate to minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
The 47-year-old man driving the Explorer and the pickup driver have not yet been identified.
