Authorities are investigating a case of suspicious deaths after finding two dead bodies Monday on a houseboat in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call around 1:30 p.m. Monday from Contra Costa Sheriff’s officials whose river patrol had found a houseboat in the northwest side of the deep water channel of the Sacramento River, near Spoonville Creek, about six miles south of Rio Vista.
“They attempted to call the people on the houseboat but got no response,” said Solano County Sheriff’s spokesman Daryl Snedecker. “They entered the vessel and found two males deceased on that boat.”
Contra Costa called Solano authorities because the boat was on the Solano County side of the river. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office sent its investigators and river patrol to the scene.
The bodies were sent to the Solano County Coroner’s office, which has yet to identify them or conduct an autopsy.
