Authorities identified the woman shot and killed in Del Paso Heights on Thursday afternoon as police continue to search for a suspect.
Sacramento County coroner’s officials identified the woman as Tiffany S. Silva, 31, of Sacramento.
Police and fire personnel found Silva after responding to a shooting call in the 3700 block of Balsam Street at about 2:53 p.m. Silva was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later at 3:15 p.m., coroner’s officials said.
Investigators say there was a brief disturbance in the moments before the shooting and that the people involved knew each other. Officers said a number of people involved may have fled the shooting in either a two-door white vehicle or a gold-colored Saturn.
Sacramento police ask anyone with information to call the department’s dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357. Callers can remain anonymous.
