The California Highway Patrol is alerting Sacramento County motorists to road closures that will significantly affect local traffic during Sunday’s California International Marathon.
The course for the run begins at Folsom Dam and ends at the state Capitol. Depending on location, road closures will occur between 5:20 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. During the scheduled time for closures, no traffic will be permitted on the course. CHP officials recommend that affected motorists either leave early before the road is closed or find an alternate route.
The CHP will handle traffic control from the start of the course to Howe Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard, where the duties will be turned over to the Sacramento Police Department. CHP units will be in place prior to the posted road closure times.
