A 27-year-old cyclist on Fruitridge Road in Sacramento was killed Sunday evening in a hit-and-run crash east of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

There were no witnesses or description of the vehicle involved in the crash, which happened around 6 p.m., CHP Officer Daniel Webb said. The victim was traveling eastbound on Fruitridge Road and was found lying in the street. Nearby, officers located a bicycle that appeared to have little damage, Webb said.

“We don’t know if he was riding or walking the bike at the time of the crash,” Webb said.

The name of the victim, described as a Hispanic man from Sacramento, was not released Sunday by the coroner’s office, Webb said.
