The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a bicyclist killed Sunday evening by a hit-and-run driver.
He was identified as Joseph Williams, 27, of Sacramento.
Williams was killed in a crash east of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
There were no witnesses or description of the vehicle involved in the crash, which happened about 6 p.m., CHP Officer Daniel Webb said. The victim was traveling eastbound on Fruitridge Road and was found lying in the street. Nearby, officers located a bicycle that appeared to have little damage, Webb said.
