A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries Monday morning in a crash on westbound Interstate 80 just west of West El Camino Avenue.
Traffic was backed up on westbound I-80 for several hours after the 6:30 a.m. crash. Traffic began to move smoothly after all lanes re-opened around 9 a.m.
Two accidents were reported in the vicinity about the same time. The first involved a truck and another vehicle on westbound I-80 east of Reed Avenue. The truck ended up on its side.
A backup began on the freeway before a second crash occurred, involving the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist died on the scene.
