A 21-year-old motorcyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. when an 88-year-old man driving a car pulled out of Loehmann’s Plaza onto Fair Oaks Boulevard. The driver was trying to cross two lanes to get into a turn lane when he struck the motorcyclist, according to California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Officer Lizz Dutton.
The motorcyclist was transported to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Dutton said. The victim has been identified as Aaron Rehman of Sacramento. The driver, whose name was not released, did not sustain any injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident, but Dutton noted that the motorcyclist had the right of way. No charges have been filed.
