Police say a 11-year-old pedestrian has been transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by vehicles at Bruceville Road and Cosumnes River Boulevard in south Sacramento.

Police spokeswoman Officer Michele Gigante said the incident was reported at 5:23 p.m., and a preliminary investigation indicates the youngster was struck by two vehicles. One stopped, but the other, described as an older white van, left the scene.

Gigante said traffic investigators are en route and traffic is being diverted from the area. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
