What happened in the case of dentist Priya Puelicher who was arrested for spraying her kids with cleaning spray?

– Joe, Sacramento

According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, Priya Praveena Puelicher, 42, was sentenced in May to 90 days in jail after pleading no contest to misdemeanor counts of inflicting unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering on a child, and inflicting cruel or inhuman corporal punishment on a child.

Puelicher was arrested in September 2012 for investigation of assaulting her two daughters, 9 and 11, by spraying them in the face with a household cleaner.

According to a story in The Bee, police said Puelicher was disciplining the youngsters. The incident was reported by the children’s father, who had just returned from an afternoon outing.

The girls reportedly suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.
