The Sacramento County Coroner’s office has released the name of a man who died when his car crashed into a utility pole in Galt early Sunday morning.
He was identified as Luis Antonio Valencia, 24, of Galt.
A passenger in the car driven by Valencia, also a Galt-area man in his 20s, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The crash occurred about 3:35 a.m. Sunday. Galt police got several 911 calls about an accident in front of 30 C St., where officers found a 2000 Toyota Echo crashed into a pole.
Inside they found Valencia, who was not wearing a seat belt, and the unconscious passenger, who had been wearing a seat belt.
