One man died Monday morning from gunshot wounds suffered at a south Sacramento apartment complex.
Sacramento police were called to the 7800 block of Center Parkway at about 3:45 a.m. Monday where a person had reportedly broken into an apartment. A gun was reported to be involved.
Officers responded and found a man outside of an apartment who had been shot multiple times. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he died.
Officers spoke with two female occupants of the apartments before one of the women was transported to the hospital for a medical condition, a police spokeswoman said.
Detectives determined that the victim, a man in his 20s, was the alleged intruder, but circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, Gigante said.
