Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating a body found in a vehicle parked near the Sacramento-Placer county line.

A short press release from the Sacramento sheriff’s department said that deputies from both Sacramento and Placer counties responded to a field at Watt Avenue and Baseline Road on Wednesday on a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Once there, deputies found a dead person in the vehicle, which turned out to be found in Placer County.

Sacramento detectives have taken over the investigation into the death due to their belief that the dead person may have a connection to an on-going investigation. No information was released on whether the dead person was a man or woman or how the person died.
