The name of the man who died of a gunshot wound Saturday in Carmichael has been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office.

He was identified as Justin David Gonzales, 34, of Citrus Heights.

The department received calls reporting a shooting about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Lisa Bowman.

Gonzales was found shot in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Marconi Avenue, she said. Residents could not say if the man was a resident of the complex, but that they had seen him around before.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff's homicide bureau at (916) 874-5115.
