The West Sacramento Police Department advises motorists that Otis Avenue, between Marshall Road and Bridgeway Lakes Drive, is expected to be closed for several hours after a vehicle crashed into a power pole.
The single-vehicle crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Marshall Road and Otis Avenue. The pole broke in two, leaving a live power line lying across the roadway, according to a Police Department news release.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from West Sacramento, was not injured. Police said alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. The driver was cited for excessive speed, leaving the roadway, and for not having insurance, registration or a driver’s license in his possession.
