Pedestrian killed when hit by train in south Sacramento

An Amtrak train struck and killed a pedestrian in south Sacramento on Friday morning.
The incident happened about 7 a.m. at the railroad tracks near Elder Creek and Power Inn roads.
The Amtrak passenger train struck the man, delaying service on the north-south route as officials took custody of the body and investigated the incident.
The man’s identity has not been released.
