Placer County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a Monday night stabbing in the Colfax area in which a man was seriously injured.
Deputies responded about 10 p.m. to a report of a fight in a house in the 26000 block of Norton Grade Road. When they arrived, they found a man inside the house bleeding from numerous stab wounds, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.
Officials said the 24-year-old victim does not live there and would not say why he was there. The owner of the house was not there because he was in custody at the Placer County Jail, sheriff’s officials said.
The victim was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where his condition was reported as serious but stable, sheriff’s officials said. Detectives are following leads in the case.
