UPDATE: Missing Carmichael man found safe

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department reports that an 85-year-old Carmichael man who had been missing since Tuesday has been found safe.

Jacob Schales (pictured) left his his residence in the 4300 block of Forest Hill Court and was believed to have been driving his 2012 Acura sedan, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.

He was reported to be in good physical health but has recently suffered from memory loss and easily becomes confused and disoriented.

Sheriff’s officials said he contacted his wife on three occasions Tuesday, giving different locations of his whereabouts and stating that he was lost. He gave his last location as Auburn and said that his vehicle had become disabled.
