The driver of a Chevrolet Corvette who was killed in a crash near California State University, Sacramento, Saturday was an 83-year-old Sacramento man.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s office identified him Sunday as Gerald F. Ryder.
The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Saturday when Ryder’s car collided with a sport utility vehicle at College Town Drive and La Riviera Drive, according to Sacramento police. The driver of the SUV was unhurt, and no one else was involved in the accident.
Doug Morse, Sacramento police spokesman, declined Saturday to release details of the crash, citing the pending investigation. Sunday, more information about the collision was not available.
