Sacramento County sheriff’s officials seek the public’s help in locating a 79-year-old Foothill Farms man who was last seen leaving for church Sunday morning.

Gene Cargile (pictured) was last seen at his residence in the 5000 block of Hackberry Lane about 6:30 a.m. He left for church in his vehicle and was expected to return around 10:30 a.m. But a short time after he left, his vehicle reappeared at his home. Cargile, however, was nowhere to be found, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. It was determined that Cargile did not attend church that day.

Cargile is reported to be in good physical and mental health, and is considered to be at-risk because it is unlike him not to return home.

He is described as white, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 168 pounds. He has short gray hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Cargile’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
