An attic fire damaged an Arden Arcade apartment unit this morning.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded at 9:46 a.m. to a report of heavy smoke coming from an apartment in the 3700 block of Watt Avenue. Two adults were able to safely leave the residence before firefighters arrived, according to a Fire District news release.

The apartment was the only occupied unit in the single-story fourplex, and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the single unit, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
