A 26-year-old man is in Sacramento County Jail, accused of child trafficking.

The Sacramento FBI Child Exploitation Task Force arrested Sean Daniels on suspicion of trafficking a child, pimping, pandering and other sex crimes, according to an FBI news release.

Law enforcement officers encountered Daniels and a teenage girl late Monday evening on a light-rail train. After talking with the pair, officers determined that Daniels’ companion was a 14-year-old girl from the Sacramento area whom the task force had been searching for since mid-January. Subsequent investigation led to the allegations of child trafficking.

The Sacramento field office of the FBI partners with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Sacramento Police Department, as well as law enforcement agencies in 34 counties in California’s Eastern District, to identify and recover children who are victims of commercial exploitation and investigate alleged traffickers.
