A woman was shot in the leg Sunday night during a struggle as three armed men stole marijuana and cash from a home on Crandall Avenue.
The victim, who lived in the house, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at UC Davis Medical Center. Police are searching for the suspects, who fled after the shooting.
An occupant of the house called the Sacramento Police Department at 8:36 p.m. after the home invasion Sunday, said Public Information Officer Michele Gigante. There were three occupants in the house when a person arrived to buy marijuana. Seconds later, three armed suspects rushed in in search of marijuana and cash, said Gigante. During a struggle over a purse, one of the suspects shot the woman in the lower leg.
The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of marijuana and cash and no arrests were made, said Gigante.
