A Sacramento man was injured in his neck at a busy Woodland park on Monday morning.

Woodland police and firefighters were called to Woodside Park, 1615 Cottonwood St., about 11 a.m. Monday for a reported stabbing. There, they found a 29-year-old Sacramento man with a superficial wound to his throat.

The victim, who was not identified, did not require hospitalization. The person who injured the man also tried to run him over, according to police.

The attacker fled the area and the assault is under investigation. The attacker and the injured man knew each other.
